A study conducted by University of Scranton (Pennsylvania), which involved 16 candidates, justified the link between green coffee and obesity. In this study, which spanned across duration of 6 weeks, one group of individuals that was administered with a high dosage of this coffee extract (350 mg thrice a day) on an average experienced a drop in weight from 160.6 to 156.1 lbs whereas, the group which was administered with a low dosage (350 mg twice a day), experienced an average drop in weight from 157.1 to 153.7 lbs. In addition to experiencing the weight loss benefits, the study also discovered no potential side effects associated with consumption of this coffee extract.
